Analysis of the Trump administration's regulatory policies and their impact on cryptoasset markets (2025)

This article examines the impact of the U.S. regulatory framework on crypto-assets under the administration of President Donald Trump in 2025, particularly through the GENIUS Act for stablecoins. The objective is to analyze how this regulation, beyond providing legal certainty, strategically seeks to integrate cryptocurrencies into the traditional financial system to strengthen the demand for public debt and consolidate the global dominance of the U.S. dollar. Methodologically, a qualitative analysis of speeches, official documents, and specialized reports is employed, complemented by an ordinary least squares (OLS) regression model to chart the impact of the new regulations on the crypto-asset market. The findings suggest that the U.S. regulatory framework has evolved from a fragmented approach into a cohesive state policy, using regulation as a tool for broader fiscal and geopolitical objectives, thereby transforming the governance of digital assets.
