The BRICS as a manifestation of the inter-systemic transition to a multipolar world

The international system is undergoing a series of changes, typical of a process of intersystemic transition that tends towards multipolarity. Today, this phenomenon is evidente in the struggle for a new redistribution of power by emerging powers. The interaction between them and the alliances formed by them, in search of a common interest, has allowed them to have a direct impact on the international order. From this perspective, the BRICS group stands out as a driving force behind the transformations that the world is experiencing on the way to multipolarity. The expansion of its membership, the strengths of its member states in terms of population, economic development and political activism, the efforts to dethrone the dollar as the currency of exchange in international commercial and financial transactions, as well as the search for better and greater access to energy sources and raw materials, make it a major player in the international system.
