Florida is crucial in the electoral process in the United States of America (USA) due to its specific weight in the distribution of electoral votes, thirty. In the first quarter of the 21st century, Florida has been characterized as a highly contested swing state in each race. Added to this is the sustained population growth and the relevance of its economy for the country. The changing demographics and the mobilization of the Hispanic vote are key factors that influence this electoral battle. Florida is not only a scenario of political confrontation, but also a sample of the diversity and electoral dynamics of the U.S. There, the growing advantage of the Republican Party over the Democratic Party is reflected in Donald Trump's victory in Miami-Dade in 2024, a county that had been a Democratic stronghold for decades. Therefore, this article is interested in identifying what factors conditioned the advance of the Republican Party in the state of Florida in the period 2016-2024 due to the importance of this for the current political configuration of the U.S. From the synthesis of the statistical data collected in the research and the actions carried out by the parties involved it is evident that Republican policies and the changes that they have entailed in Florida's demographics have been determinant in the recent elections.
